When relaxing in the sunroom you will have a beautiful panoramic view across the Kyle of Tongue, with Castle Varrich and the Causeway adding to the breath-taking scenery. Being in the centre of Tongue village means that the shop and a restaurant/bar are just a few steps away. If you feel like a longer walk, then the path to Castle Varrich is very near to the house.

Smoo Cave, Cape Wrath and Castle of Mey are some of the spectacular places to drive to, or perhaps go on a longer adventure with a day trip to the Orkney Islands from John O’Groats. Its proximity to the NC500 makes Smithy House a compelling choice for anyone planning to travel the famous route who is looking for well situated stops that add to the experience.
